Not all, but some models from the Austrian manufacturer Puch are equipped with a coaster brake. Instead of two brake levers on your moped handlebars, you operate the rear brake using the moped pedals. Like all brakes, the coaster brake is also subject to wear. If you notice a reduction in the braking effect on your moped or if the back-pedal brake is no longer effective at all, an overhaul or repair is necessary. But even if you want to get either a higher top speed or firmer acceleration out of your moped and therefore want to adjust the gear ratio, it plays a decisive role whether your moped is equipped with coaster brakes.
